Avisen - Inca launches in South Africa following recent acquisition of iCentric
    17-02-2010

Inca, an Avisen plc company and global provider of Business Intelligence (BI) and Performance Management solutions, is pleased to announce its official launch in the South African market, further solidifying Inca’s position as the leading IBM Cognos partner in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (the ‘EMEA’ regions). The official launch event, ‘Peak Performance 2010’, took place in Johannesburg.

The launch follows the recent acquisition of iCentric, a South African BI company which already has a well established presence in the South African IBM Cognos reseller market and a solid client list - particularly in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.

BI remains a growing industry globally where companies are increasingly realising the value of timely, relevant and accurate information in order to define, measure and forecast future performance and enhance their competitive advantage within their industry sector.

According to Keith Jones, Inca South Africa’s Managing Director, the move into the South African market is great news for the country’s industry: “The launch of Inca in the South African region will enable local companies to tap into Inca’s extensive global network and expertise. This will give South African businesses access to an unparalleled level of service and skills.

“Inca and iCentric are leading providers of IBM’s Cognos solutions. While the deal strengthens the offering to local companies, it also consolidates Inca’s leadership position in the EMEA region, and gives us a springboard for the rest of Africa. We are pleased to welcome iCentric’s valued customers on board. ”
